Set Free Prayer Ministry
with Dr. Jim Gardner, Ph.D., LPC
Dr. Jim Gardner, Ph.D., LPC, is a Christian counselor who has 45 years of experience in the mental health field. After practicing traditional counseling for 25 years and finding it to be ineffective, he began studying and learning to use a prayer based approach and immediately witnessed people being freed from their emotional burdens. Dr. Gardner has been sharing the prayer principle of the Set Free Prayer Ministry with the residents of Uvalde since June 2022. He aims to help people overcome feelings of grief, anger, shame, sadness, depression, and anxiety. “These are the underlying emotions behind traumas that need to be resolved so that the traumatized person can experience genuine peace in their life and be a good parent and spouse and so that their families will grow stronger rather than weaker as a result of the trauma in Uvalde.” (HealingUvalde.com, 2022)
Dr. Gardner visits Uvalde every two to four weeks to offer free individual counseling services, as well as free public seminars on this effective faith-based way to find healing from grief, anger, fear, and shame from the shooting on May 24th, 2022. Please visit the Events Page to check for his upcoming visits. Several Uvalde Ministerial Alliance pastors are supporters of Set Free Prayer Ministry and working to become certified Prayer Ministers.
